Kalakendram

This is our Centre of arts, our cultural training centre and meeting place. It is designed and developed on the basis of the cultural values of tribals. We utilize this centre for training our students in music, theatre, and dance. This is a centre of attraction for many as it touches our heart.

Keni Research Library and Ethno-Folk Museum

‘Keni’ means wellspring. Here it denotes as well- spring of knowledge. A well-furnished library and documentation centre is functioning at TUDI campus. TUDI team gives research guidance and training to students, teachers and NGOs in the field of tribal culture, language, folklore, education and community development. An ethno-folk museum is setup at TUDI to preserve and promote tribal folk-lore and folk life.

Arivuda Tribal Boarding

Through this new initiative we aim to impact quality education to selected tribal and marginalized students hailing from different parts of Wayanad. This will enable these students to cope with the educational challenges of the modern formal education and come to interact with the mainstream society creatively. This learning centre 'Arivuda' (abode of knowledge) is designed in tune with the tribal culture and ambience.Tudi supports the tribal students in their studies. Sarvodaya Higher Secondary School and Arivuda boarding give them a take - off. Those desiring a higher profile in education go ahead in life with this start. We organize career trainings and seminars in order to make them aware of the wide horizons awaiting them.

Herbarium (Pachamarunnkoottam)

The herbarium is envisaged for the advancement of an alternative health care system. The tribal are rich in their traditional medicinal practices, and invaluable medicinal collection. The herbarium is an endeavour to preserve and promote their indigenous knowledge of medicines and to make this available to the people.

Tudi Kalasangam

The objective of this troupe is to encourage indigenous art forms and cultural richness of the adivasis. Training is given in music, theatre, dance forms, tribal instruments and modern musical instruments. This group gives stage performances at TUDI Kalakendram and outside stages.

Tribal Festival - Adivasi Gramotsavam

This is a communion of different tribal sects to encourage their culture, art and folklore. It is conducted at TUDI in the month of May. In this get-together, the tribal communes from Wayanad and other regions of Kerala share their own experiences and wisdom and perform their art forms.

Organic Farming

While the world is facing climate strike and adverse environmental unbalances, Tudi spreads awareness among our students about the importance of sustainable vegetation and conservation.

ESP(Ensuring Social Protection)

There is a project going on in the institution named ESP (ensuring social protection) which is a Delhi based project and it started in 2015, right now we are in the 3 rd phase of this project. Tudi is the head of Wayanad Unit and other NGO partners are Ooru, Jvala and Bodhini. It aims at bringing people forward to achieve their rights by they themselves.
ESP is a collective platform formed at the national level to safeguard the rights and entitlement of those marginalized sects of population such as Tribals, Dalits, Fisher folk, Urban poor and backward communities. By protecting their right, ESP is entrusted with ensuring them dignified life too. Tudi organized various right based empowerments training program to equip Wayanad Unit.
Internship Programme, observation visits and field guidance.
We accompany social work trainees in the field practice. We help them in their visit to the fields, orient them to apply their academic theories into practical life.
